GIE Osiris tackles emerging threats and guarantees the safety of its chemical platform with the GR100 robot

The project to install a GR100 surveillance robot stems from Laurent ILTIS‘ conviction that GIE Osiris is a site at the cutting edge of technology and innovation, particularly in terms of security.

The financial, environmental and security stakes are high, and it is only by supporting people with new technologies that GIE Osiris will be able to face and adapt rapidly to the increasingly heterogeneous and numerous threats. The site is already equipped with aerial drones and traditional security systems, such as video surveillance.

The aim is to reinforce ground surveillance, while maintaining the full complement of in-house security teams.

"We are working on a human-robot complementarity. [...] The main idea is to preserve industrial assets and ensure employee safety. Once again, the threat is eclectic, it's evolving and the robot is moving faster than man on certain aspects of safety. But the decision will remain human. The robot is not the alpha, but the omega of decision-making, which remains the prerogative of the operations manager. Anyway, the GR100 is a real decision-making aid, since we have real-time alert feedback.
